Just doing this for fun. This is why I wanted to get those circles aligned in my previous posts. It’s far from done, but this is the main jist of it.. mainly to illustrate the passing of time/ Not alot of fancy effects.. focusing more on design than filters and an overused photoshop-ish look

opinions please on this very early version. It will evolve many times no doubt before it’s done.

Drew,

Pretty good, just that the minute divisions are are little indistinct in this example and the numerals are not vertical, but that is just personal.

http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1oABjBteRklBmJx7QJ dqD9XFHcaArg That was the basis for the clock. I liked the design so I tried my best to replicate each component from stratch.
I tried a version where the min increments were the same size/opacity and it didn’t give enough differences for the eye and ended up looking bland

Pretty good, and it’s coming along nicely, but may I just say that I’m not very convinced by the continuous shadows left by the minute and hour hands. The minute hand’s shadow arc is not aligned with the face, nor is the hour hand’s, though to a lesser extent, and both are casting shadows into the future.

is this more of what you are talking about?
A motion blur that more closely follows the actual path of the hands?

I did that blur the hard way I think (rotated a radical) and it didnt turn out as nicely as I wanted. Is there a way to put a blur on a path… or some other way to shape the arc more precisely? Seems like theres limited blur options… which all are straight or unpredictable arcs (the radical blur)… anyway to get more control?

That blur isn’t going to make or break the image, but I would like to know how to do it

Drew,

I found this, I know it is a bit late but it could come useful,

Repeating a pattern

"This can be done using Reiterative Transform. Do Ctrtl-T on the object and drag the "hub" to your center point. Rotate the object to the first position, (input rotation angle on Options Bar )commit the Transform. Then hold down Ctrl-Alt-Shift and hit T. Each time you hit T a new onbject will appear in the correct place. If you have it selected it will do it on the same layer, if no selection a new layer wil be made for each object."

But in this version, is the minute hand going backwards? Motion blur is on the wrong side! And according to the blur, the hour hand appears to be getting shorter.
