Hi

When I CTRL+Click on a layer witch is in a folder, it selects the folder instead of the layer… Can I change that setting somewhere???

In Windows, Ctrl+Click is used for multiple selection. If you click on something that is not already selected, it means "Select this item TOO" (as in, don’t unselect other selections, just also select this). If the item is already selected, it means, "Remove this selection without changing the other selection". In PS, This allows you to select multiple layers.

This is REALLY standard behavior that functions in thousands of Windows programs. I guess the quick answser is, if you only want to select that layer, don’t press the Ctrl key…
