My computer has
Adobe Photoshop starter edition 3.0 on it.

Until recently (when I received an automatic update from Adobe.) I could open my photos with Windows Media, Paint and/OR Adobe. Now, the only thing that opens photos is Adobe. I don’t want to be stuck with Adobe, since I still use some of the other programs for various tasks.

How can I tell my computer to at least ASK which program to use before opening a photo??? thanks RichG TX

Right-click on the file—>"Open With". It should bring up a window that lists a bunch of programs. It should have a little check box at the bottom that says "always use this program to open these files." Choose accordingly.
