Hi, what’s the best way of removing red-eye with CS2? In a previous version of Photoshop, I had an action where I would select around the red area, run the action, and it worked great! I can’t seem to find such a thing for CS2.

Thanks!

Gary

The red eye tool is on the same flyout as the patch tool, healing brush and spot healing brush (J)

or one way would be to select the red pupil (feather to taste) and then Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation
Select the reds channel (instead of the master)
desaturate the red channel
decrease the lightness of the red channel selection/

Another way that I tend to use most of the time, is by using the "Sponge Tool" and set it to "desaturate".
Just alter the amount to suit your needs.

The help in the trial version of CS2 says there’s a specific "red eye tool" and it shows a specific icon for this tool. Problem is that I cannot find this tool. It just doesn’t seem to exist, I’ve checked everywhere. I’ll use the suggestions in this group for removing red eye but I still would like to know how to find the tool described by the CS2 help.

Thanks for any "help",

Donald

Donald,

It’s the fourth icon down on the left of the toolbar, click on the triangle to see the flyout.

MH,

That flyout says "Spot Healing Brush Tool (J)". Not to be picky but I’m just trying to understand: That’s not the same icon or name described by the help.
