I posted this on another newsgroup by accident also but here is my question. I have a Pentium 4 2.53 GH with a GeForce 5900 video card and it takes Photoshop CS2 more than 3 minutes to load. Is there a way to speed things up without buying a faster computer? It works just fine once it is loaded.

How much RAM?
How are scratch discs set up?
How many background programs do you run?

RAM = 1,500 MB
Scratch Disc = Zero as far as I know
Background Programs = Very few "all other programs start up quickly

Other possibilities are volume of plug-ins, fonts, and actions being loaded. If you take a look at the splash screen you will probably notice the check for preferences takes most of the time. In the PS General settings, do you have launch Bridge checked?
