How can I apply gradient to text? I would ideally like text to be not rasterized to enable editing if neeed.

Thanks

Use the Horizontal Type masking tool (T)
and then apply your gradient fill.
Don’t know of a way to keep it editable though!

Hi, John!
There is another way to add a gradient to text, leaving the text editable and also giving you more gradient flexibility:

1) Type your text. Click its layer in the Layers palette to commit it.
2) Make a new layer above your Type layer.
3) Hold your cursor between the Type layer and your new layer in the Layers palette. Alt-click. (Option-click with a Mac.) This groups the two layers.
4) Click your top layer in the Layers palette.
5) Make your Gradient on that new layer.

Now any part of this is completely editable. Have fun!
