Trouble with layer popup

For some reason, my layers popup window will not open any more. I’ve tried using the F7 button, as well as the [Window] menu. Neither works. I’m using PS CS (v8.0). Any ideas as to what may be causing this and how I can fix it?

Delete your preference file as per the Help instructions. MH
