Thanks for the replies.
I have deleted the "Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Prefs.psp" file and then tried running Photoshop 7 but it still gives that same error then closes. And holding down the Ctrl Alt and Shift keys while starting up the program does give me that pop up message but when I choose to reset the Preferences that doesn’t change things. Again this only occurs when not using an Admin account. Any more suggestions?

Did you use the ‘Properties’ command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file., as the mnessage suggests? Do it on the Photoshop.exe icon (not the shortcut).

You did not answer this…

I wasn’t sure which file to unlock and if by unlock it meant to uncheck the Read-only option, so I did it to the Photoshop folder. But after I uncheck Read-only, and look at its properties again, I notice that it doesnt stay as unchecked.
Where is the Photoshop.exe icon?

Aly,

this only occurs when not using an Admin account.<<

Almost certainly a permissions problem.

The required permissions are listed in:
