I am having some trouble getting my animated. gif’s to animate. Anyone using Internet Explorer can not see the image animate, but everyone else can. Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks!

Well, the easiest reason would be that in IE’s Internet Options, "Play animations in web pages" is not activated. Could be another security setting though.

It’s activated….the strange thing is that it snot playing for ANYONE with IE. But people using Firefox or other browsers have no problems. It’s just a little animated gif I made of my son to use in a signature line.

Here is the link…….http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e60/BCreevy/Mas on-1.gif

Yet, if I look at it on photobucket’s full page it animates fine…….http://s37.photobucket.com/albums/e60/BCreevy/

It must have something to do with the [ IMG] tag somehow. We are all at a loss as to why this happening.

Note: I also have an avatar I use on their boards that had to be uploaded via a browse button and everyone can se ethat just fine.

Animates for me in IE 6 and Firefox. No problems in either browser.

Your first link does not animate for me in IE7. It works fine in FF.

The reason it works in IE on your second link is that is not the same file. It’s a thumbnail with a different name (I’m not familiar with photobucket, but it probably reprocessed your original to that size).

Something’s up with your original file, but I don’t know what. If I download it and resave it, it does work in IE. I’m using ImageReady 7.

Have you done the standard "trash your preferences" thingy (see this forum’s FAQs) and tried resaving it after that?

Okay….so I did that and made a new one. I made it exactly the same way and now it animates but only gives me 2 frames and they are messed up looking.

Does this sound liek a photoshop problem I am having?

Just thought I would share as we got it sorted…..photobuvcket was doing something when it uploaded the file. it was changing it and it reacted with IE. We uploaded it to my own site and it was just fine after.
