I was working on a large greyscale scan of an architectural plan trying to make the lines darker using curves. Threshold wouldn’t produce satisfatory results. It would work in the preview, but when I clicked okay wouldn’t change. It was originally in 8 bit, but it didn’t matter at 16 bit. I had to reduce the image resolution to make it work. Any suggestions to keep the resolution?

Were you viewing the image at 100%?

The fact you say it’s large suggests to me that you weren’t, in which case you cannot fully trust the preview you see on screen.

What is the current value of the lines (with the colour picker)?
