I am wanting to add a waterrmark to my images for posting to the web. I have recorded an action to open the file and stop so I can add the water via a brush I created. When I run it it stops but will not let me do anything to the file. I press the "continue" button on the message dialog that open and it saves and closes the file. I thought the stop action was to allow me to do things to the file that cannot be done in the action. Any advice

Tim

If you are invoking an action via Automate > Batch, this function does not permit one to exit the batch process via a STOP command, do something manual like applying a brushstroke or selecting a foreground color, then resume processing with the next file. It just works this way…

What’s the nature of your watermark? Some type of special signature or logo? Text? What?

Does it go in the same place for each image, e.g., 1" from right edge, 1" from bottom -or- placement varies by image requiring you to decide each time?

Reason I ask: Your answers will dictate further suggestions.

Danny,

Thanks for the response. So now I get it. It’s the batch that is causing the problem not the action.

The watermark is either a JPG or I also made a brush of it. I prefer the brush because as I apply it I can select where to place it and what color to make it based on the photo I am placing it in. I hope this answers your questions. It is a Brush, it gets placed differently in each photo and I need to select a color based on the BG it is going on.

Thanks again

OK… that helps. Thx for the additional info.

Click my name above to get my e-mail address and then shoot me an e-mail. I’ll reply with an action I wrote to test my theory on how to apply the custom brush stroke, customize the color and position and even scale it – in batch. 🙂

E-mailing you the .atn will be faster and more accurate than trying to type out all the gory details.
