Photoshop CS2 Verison 9.0
Windows XP Home Edition
512 MB RAM
Around 80 GB hard drive free
Unknown Video Card

I just installed Photoshop CS2 on my computer and I also added around 2,000-5,000 new fonts. I went to photoshop after i downloaded them (so i could use them) and now it becomes very slow and freezes.

Sometimes it works but when I click on the "T" button for text it slows down then goes normal, but when i click on the cursor button next to it , it freezes and goes to not responding… I have tried at least 5 times.

you’ve probably installed a corrupt font. delete the ones you installed and reinstall only a couple at a time (even 20 or 50 at a time is better than 5000!)

see this faq topic:

<http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.2ccee649>

it’s not exactly the same problem, but the repair steps will be the same…

per the faq:

Isolate the problem font by removing half your fonts, then check to see if the problem is resolved. If it ís, try loading half of the remaining fonts, check again etc. etc.

This way you should eventually be able to isolate the problem font. ————————————————–
so if remove half and it works, the problem font(s) is in the 1/2 you removed. if not, then it’s in the 1/2 you left. keep halving the list of installed fonts until you find the bad one(s).

cool! backups are good! 🙂

now pick and choose the fonts you really want and only install a couple at a time, testing between them. or you could get a font management progam…
