I’m creating a personalized copymark action for my digital negatives. The action works perfectly, but once I play the action on another size or image layout, the "coypmark symbol" is no longer centered vertically and horizontally on the canvas (like the original image I used to create the action).

When creating the action I used the "center horizontal" and "center vertical" options from the "move options tool bar", but the action doesn’t seem to be retaining that information. Is there another way I can approach this? Please help.

How are you getting the copymark symbol into the document? You realize when you Paste something it always pastes in perfectly centered? So that may be all you need.

Aside from that, you could Select All and use Layer>Align to Selection, and choose Horizontal and Vertical centers.

I am using the "Custom Shape" tool and choosing the "copyright symbol"

I know know what I did wrong. I was choosing the center horizontal and vertical from the move options tool bar, instead of going from the main menue Layer>align to selection. I guess the actions don’t retain information from the move tool bar.

In that case, Layer>Align to Selection should work fine.
