In 6.01, my preference for painting cursors is Brush Size and other cursors is Standard.

However, in the midst of a retouching session, all the brushes will change to Precise and I can’t get my preferences back during that session.

This never used to happen until a couple of years ago when the problem was intermittent. When I wrote to this forum then, I was advised that what I was describing was unknown.

Now it happens during every session, after the 3rd or 4th photo.

Will I have better luck with this inquiry?

Check your caps lock. If it’s on, it toggles brushes to precise if they are set to Brush Size, and Brush Size if they are set to Precise. It’s a way of temporarily changing the appearance fo the brush without having to change prefs.

A blessing on the head of YrbkMgr…

that did it, I wish you had been here two years ago. I have been saving the retouched photos with cap names and that was the source of the issue, which I could not find in help or in the knowledge base. Thank you.

This has been discussed often and I believe it is in the FAQs.
