Hi there,
I created some buttons using layers in photoshop 7.0. My customer wants to be able to edit these photoshop buttons so that he can add buttons in the future himself. He has photoshop 5.0. I simply want him to be able to select the text layer and edit the text to what he wants it to say (the T icon on the toolbar is selected). I’ve shown him a screenshot of how it should look. But he has tried and tried and he says that he is not able to select the text to be able to change it. Is this something he can’t do in Photoshop 5.0? Any suggestions?

Are you saving (or can you save) in a file format that’s backward-compatible with 5?

I don’t have either 7 or 5 available to check, but I’d be slightly surprised if the file format hadn’t changed a bit between two releases.

As I remember, Photoshop 5 did not feature editable text. That came in version 5.5. Time to upgrade.

even so, iirc, version 7 introduced major text engine changes so lots of it wasn’t backwards compatable to even 6.
