After I convert a raw image (Konica Minolta Max 7D) in Photoshop CS2 and am done with what ever edits I want to do I then sharpen up the image. In Scott Kelby’s book "Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers" he states the Smart sharpen may be a better way to sharpen your pic. So I have tried it and what happens is when you finish making you ajdustments and the preview looks really great you click OK and let CS2 do its thing and when done the pic pops back to looking like it did before you sharpened it. Whats going on here or am I doing something wrong?

Richard,

Are you viewing the image at 100% in PS?

No but the window shows a 100% view Which I thought was what you would be viewing. Scott Kelby state in his book that this would be the new way everybody would shapen pic so I stated using it. When I view the pic in ACDsee7 after I done editing it and saving it as a TIFF file it doesn’t seem to be as good as when I see it in the preview when I am tring to sharpen it.

I just happened on a Smart Sharpen tutorial earlier this week that I thought was really good; good enough that I’d be willing to play with it now. One of Russell Brown’s at <http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/SmartSharpenSM.mov>

Cheers,
