Saving RAW image as jpeg

I am having a problem – after opening a RAW, TIFF, or PSD image in PSCS2 and editing, I cannot save it as a jpeg image as the box does not give me that option. If I open a TIFF or PSD image in PSCS2 (that I previously saved using PSE3) then I can save it as a jpg. Do I need a plugin or something?

Sorry – just found the answer – I was working in 16 bit mode.

Sue,

Convert to 8-bit/channel and then you will be able to Save As JPG.

Sue, I assume you know the downsides of saving as a jpeg verses tif. just wondering why you would shoot raw and then save as a jpeg?

Yes I was just saving it to e-mail – although I realize there are simpler ways to convert for an e-mail
