I just built a second machine. I cannot log in on to this forum with that machine.

The first machine works fine, but with the new machine, same user name and password, I receive an error message, "User name or password incorrect". Tried resetting password, no change in behavior.

Jack,

Your second machine must send something different. It can’t be a cookie thing as you are manually typing it.

Is the keyboard configured properly? The character set may not match the layout.

Type the username and password in Notepad on both machines, so you can see the difference.

Are you certain the first machine is totally disconnected from the server before trying the second machine? The server may be enforcing one connection per user with a misleading error message.

I recently experienced this, although ijnstead of an error message, I repeatedly got the username and password window. I turned off the option that asked for a user name and password, checking a box that said that it was not required. That fixed the problem.
