The guys on the Image Ready Forum will be better placed to help you here.

As for myself, when I need to slice something like this, I would first do an initial slice of four or five rows by four or five columns. Then, using the Slice Select tool I would drag the slices into position and, where necessary, divide individual slices into two or more.

I find this much easier than trying to make the slices one at a time.

But as I said, try the IR forum, they’ll likely tell you how it should be done. 🙂

Best of luck with the project.

Chris.

You’re welcome. Glad it’s coming together.

how to code the contact page

It think you will get more benefit asking the HTML gurus on the Dreamwever / GoLive forums, rather than we Photoshoppers.

Best of luck with it.

Thats great. I have one quick question, I have uploaded three pages to test and two of them dont work as great as the home page does.
<http://www.imrastravels.com/> works great but
<http://www.imrastravels.com/hotels.html> and
<http://www.imrastravels.com/contact.html>
looks kinda *shattered*.

Plz reply
Thanks.

Again, this is really one for the appropriate HTML forums.

However, both the hotel and contact pages need to have each of the images borders set to 0 (zero) to prevent the blue lines from appearing and messing up the spacing.

Just as an aside: I would look at optimizing the images better. Even on my fast broadband connection the page puts itself together bit by bit. Anyone on dial-up would leave long before the page was fully loaded.

In Image Ready you can set different optimization to each individual element. Many of those slices would by okay as gifs with a limited colour palette and would load much faster because of the resulting smaller file size.

When you "optimize" in Image Ready, you are presented with a choice of file formats and compression ratios. It looks like you have just accepted the default High Quality Jpeg option.

Erm… You did optimize didn’t you?!!

errr all i did is that i selected the slices and clicked on file- save optimized as .

Is that right?

And as for the bits which are loading up too slow, how can i make them load faster ?

As I said. By optimizing each one to create the smallest possible file size whilst maintaining reasonable quality. Where you have a limited range of colours, GIF is usually the best option.

Look up Optimization in the Help files or Google for a tutorial.
