HELP! My link-layers feature vanished !

I am in the process of designing a CD jacket, the layer linking feature on the layers palette is Gone and despite my checking the help section and the preferences column I cannot find it. I really need the linking feature to do this work. can anyone advise me how to get it back.

It’s been gone since CS or CS2 – you now click and shift or control click on layers, and you can manipulate them as one, or, if you still wish to link them, highlight them and click on the link button at the BOTTOm of the layers palette.

the link button on the bottom of the pallete is what is missing. that’s what i am talking about.either way i did do the shift to highlight both, but only one would highlight.

Try resetting the preferences (see the FAQs) which often remedies odd behaviour.

did go through to prefferences but there wa sno change….i will try again. [perhaps i missed something

Look at the FAQs. Resetting Preferences is NOT the same as going through Preferences under Edit.
