starting today, photoshop 7 will not launch. I have done nothing different. It dosent matter whether I click the .exe, or open a .psd image. In both instances, it will start up normally, allowing me to see the splash- it will laod plugins, initalize, read fonts, load brushes- then it quits when it is initalizing color profile! Also, if I jump from image ready it will not launch either. Please help!

Something in the list of items starting up is probably corrupted. Usually this happends with fonts but it could be anything. If it’s a color profile try removing all color profiles from the folder they are in (Program Files/Common Files, etc…) and starting again. If it starts normally you can add them back one at a time until you determine which is the corrupt one.

Hope this helpd.

I’ve had that problem before. It is indeed a corrupted color profile. That will stop PS from loading. You could run Adobe Gamma, select some other profile than the current profile.

Before removing colour profiles, try deleting your preference file as per the forum FAQs – that might fix it.

Yes, indeed. Delete prefs first 8)

I’m using an old fix before I got into user forums.
