I’m doing some speed checks CS vs CS2 and have run into a timing problem.

A test using Smart Blur on a 75M file indicated 35 sec in the timing but really only took 10 seconds. The same error exists in CS2. I didn’t have this problem in W2K.

What?

Oh, BTW, the exact same image in CS2 took about 17 seconds, but indicated 42.

Eh?

Well, we don’t really know what starts the timer. Is it when the menu is open or when you actually click the OK from the smart blur dialog?

Just a thought.

I’m not sure why this matters however…

Well, I’m trying to measure differences between my new computer and another one running an Intel Conroe, as well as between CS and CS2.

At any rate, if a timer exists, it must be somewhat important and certainly needs to be accurate at least to 1% which is a no-brainer for timing circuits.

I didn’t see this descrepancy with W2K either. In fact, I might be justified in installing W2k on this machine instead of XP.

FYI:
Mobo: Asus M2V
Processor: Athlon 2G 64 bit single core.
Ram: !G matched pair DDR2.
C drive is sata, the rest from my old computer on IDE.
Video card is an Ati PCI card, 128M
XP SP2
