Hello,

I just installed PS CS2 from a CD I purchased from Adobe. I went to use the Adobe Updater in the program, where it said to download the following:

1. Adobe Photoshop: 9.0.1 update and 9.0.2 update

2. Adobe Help Center: Adobe Updater 4.0.3

3. Adobe Bridge: 1.0.3 update, 1.0.4 update and Photoshop Services Update.

I had no problem downloading the files, but when I clicked on "Install now," a window popped up which said "Installation Incomplete: the update failed to install."

I was able to find the PhotoShop updates and the first Bridge update at Adobe’s site, which I was able to install without the Updater, but I can’t figure out how to update the updater for the Help Center.

Also, at Adobe’s site, it recommends downloading the Bridge update 1.0.4 only with the updater. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

I’m running Windows XP SP2; Pentium M, Dell Inspiron 2200; 1.0 Gigs RAM, 20.0 gigs free disk space

P.S. I just tried to use Help in Photoshop and get the following error message: "The operation could not be completed."

When the Updated window appears, close Photoshop and Bridge before hitting the "Install Now" button.

Also, I’m not sure whether you have to install the 9.0.1 update before the 9.0.2 or whether the installer takes care of that for you. Something to bear in mind if you still have problems.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. As I mentioned in my original post, I was able to successfully download and install 9.01 and 9.02 directly from Adobe without using the Updater.

It was the updates for the Updater itself and Bridge I could not install. Per your suggestions, I tried closing out Photoshop and Bridge before hitting "Install Now," and the installations still failed.

I’m wondering if I should uninstall Photoshop and Bridge and try again.
