Hi Gang,

I’m asking this for an on-line acquaintance. He asked:

"Is there any way to make Photoshop give me *fewer* file format options in the SAVE dialog? I am probably never going to use PCX, PXR, Portable Bitmap, Scitex, Targa, or Large Document Format."

I don’t see a place to select/deselect "save as" file types.

Drag them out of the folder.

BTW, I would not do this. I don’t see the need.

It’s possible to remove groups of
file converters, but there is no choice
how to remove specific converters.
The ‘need’ is, that one doesn’t need
file formats which are never used,
in order to make the list of possible
formats shorter.

Drag them out of the folder

Or place a "tilde" (~) in front of their filename.

I thought of that, but it didn’t work on my system. But dragging the specific file out of the folder did work.

Maybe then it’s still recognised as the plugin. I’d try to change the extention.

Putting a tilde in front of each of the 6 listed file names helped. My list of save as file types is still 14. I would like to get it down to 4. But if this is the best solution, I’ll live with it.
