Adobe Photoshop CS2 frozen at Reading Preferences screen

I just downloaded the trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS2. There is no technical problem I can think of as it just freezes at the loading screen, at the point of Reading Preferences… I’ve redownloaded it multiple times. Does anyone know what is going on? Has anyone had a problem like this?

I have the same problem, but alas, no solution in site Bob…if anyone else knows what may be the problem then I’ll be happy to try a solution. I have 1GB of RAM and well over 30 free GB of space free on my HD.
