I’m trying to create an animated gif in image ready using layers from a photoshop file.

Question is:

Can I have 1 layer that is the backround image that the other frames play over or do I have to create each frame to have this backround image?

Not quite understanding the question, but…

One layer can be the background image; that will put the background in each frame as you make them. So I guess the answer is yes.

You need to set the background layer to be visible in all frames, that’s all.
