Hi,

I have noticed an odd thing, I am performing some complicated task in Photoshop (like resizing a really large image) that takes some time. Then I alt-tab to some other application (outlook, or whatever).

When away from Photoshop – I have noticed that the escape key, even when pressed in other programs, still abort the running photoshop operation.

Am I nuts, or is this the way it should be? Is there any way to turn this off?

This is Photoshop CS2 on Win XP btw.

Same happens here. Except that it doesn’t cancel the operation until you close or minimize the "other" app.

It’s not something I’ve actually encountered in practise. But I can see how it can be annoying to come back expecting job almost done only to fine it aborted.

Maybe more RAM and/or as faster system would be the way to go?

Chris.

I have the same problem. It doesn’t matter in which application I am, if Photoshop is running in the background it ‘steals’ the ESC key and cancels the operation currently running.

It happened in Photoshop CS as well, on XP SP2.
Thanks.
