probbaly if assigning the scratch disk to a non-local drive (network HDD) or external drive would cause such a lag? use the local machines drive for optimum speed.

if this isn’t th case, there has to be some other problem….as i am experiencing the same lag problem, immediately at startup when menus appear…. (and also at other times) seems photoshop is YET still trying to communicate back to adobe or whatever event hough blocked by firewall…which seems to be causing a lag also.

my scratch disk is set up as a local seperate drive other than where windows and photoshop is physically installed. Which i presume the optimum setup for scratch disks. so don’t think the scratch setup is the problem. but ps trying to communicate or something outside my machine…. no no.
