Im going nuts here… Im new to CS2 but assumed it would operate relatively the same as PS7 but I am finding some problems. My main problem is: for example: I have 7 layers. 1 being the bottom and 7 being the top/front layer. I highlight layer 7 making it the active layer and select my move tool and go to move layer 7 and when I click on my image to grab the layer and move it I automatically end up selecting (highlighting and making the active layer) a layer behind/below the layer I intended to work with. This is driving me nuts! In PS7 the layer never switched on me unless I right clicked on my image and chose a new layer. WHat am I doing wrong? Please help me before I pull out what little hair I have left. 😉

Thank You, Jared aka TCH

Well, you can’t have much less hair than I do. <g>

Why not use the layers palette to do this? If you insist on selecting using the image, then deselect Auto Select Layer.

With the move tool selected, it’s in the options bar at the top (same as PS7).

I am a little fuzzy as to why you don’t just click-hold the layer in the layers palette (F7 to open) and pull it to where you want?

AM I missing something subtle?
