Who Knows how the get ride of Newton Rings ( the banding that show up in digital pictures usually when the picture has lots of repeating patterns or details?

Glen you just might know this since you know so much about Newton.

How dose one get ride of Newton Rings ( the banding that show up in digital pictures usually when the picture has lots of repeating patterns or details?

Newton rings <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton_rings> are completely different animals.

You’re thinking of moiré patterns <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moire>.

And how depends on the type and severity of the pattern.

I gave a try some weeks ago to the plugin for upsampling "Blow Up <http://www.alienskin.com/blowup/>" by the lads at AlienSkin and I must say the results were quite impressive, given that a picture had quality enough to start with sometinhg, of course.
