Photoshop plugins question

I lately installed on my pc photoshop cs2 a few new plugins, and when I launch photoshop and then go to task manager it says 600,000kb it takes up from my computer memory, IS THIS NORMAL? I mean I can’t work like this it’s very very slow, unless there is some plugin manager etc. that would help for this problem?
