I’ve been trying to reinstall photoshop 5.5 . It has been working until now, then just got hung when I tried to launch it. It refused to launch (just shows the busy icon then shows mouse arrow and process is gone). I tried uninstall on photoshop. When I attempt reinstall, it will let me install reader, but just shows busy icon for a few seconds then mouse arrow resumes. When I used task manager to check the current processes, it shows as setup.exe but shows count of 0 – it is not active.

I’ve tried cleaning the disc, but since it works for reader, you’d think that wouldn’t make a difference (and it doestn’).

I am running on windows XP.

I rebooted the computer, and the reinstall worked fine.
