Thank you all for all your help on my previous question, here is another question 🙂

I have this image

<http://www.aperfectworld.org/clipart/Nature/waves.gif>

that I would like to make part of hte wave look like its coming through a circle, so part of it would be in the background and the rest of the wave would come out front and go over the edge of the circle, how do you do this?

I would do a Google search, using a string of terms such as:photoshop tutorial blend imagesand that would take me to a list of results like this < http://www.google.com/search?as_q=photoshop+tutorial+blend+i mages&num=100&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&as_ep q=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype =&as_qdr=all&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&as_occt=any&amp ;as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&as_rights=&safe=off>.

Then, I’d skim each of the links offered looking for one that suited my needs and my skill level.

Bullynj,not sure if this is what you meant or if you found your solution yet or not. to do this,i simply made a circle,drug the wave image on top and then applied a layer mask to the wave layer to allow me to reveal the circle over the image. does that make sense to you?

Or like this…?

..
* Promote the Background layer (Alt+double click)
* Select the white area and delete it
* Duplicate the waves layer
* Make a new background layer plus another in between the two "waves" * Holding shift, draw out the elliptical marquee tool to form a circle and EDIT>STROKE * Fill the area outside the circle with white.
* Add a layer mask to the top Waves layer.
* Paint on the mask to eliminate the waves as required.
