Recently I read a tip about reducing noise artifacts in a photo. I may have read it in this forum, but can’t find it now. The tip used <filter>
and <gaussian blur> and then used the Blend mode <color>. Unfortunately, I don’t remember how to put it all together to make this work. When I originally read the tip, I tried it, and it worked extremely well. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

YrbkMgg, thanks for the reply. Nope that wasn’t the site! This was a very simple procedure, I just forget whether I had to add a layer etc. I remember once I made the blend mode "color" all the noise dissapeared.

If you only want to remove color noise, a simple trick is to

Duplicate layer

Put it in Color Mode

Apply Median or Gaussian Blur untill the noise disappears

You might want to inspect areas of solid color and use a Layer Mask to prevent color spilling when using this simple method.
