PhotoshopCS freezes immediately, task manager shows activity

Photoshop freezes immediately after starting up. When the tool bar starts the program quits. after cntl alt delete in task manager, then performance tab, it shows that there is activity. The graph charts are showing movement. the CPU is running at 50 to 60% My computer guy says that it is possible that 2 photoshop versions are running at the same time.

I no longer have my original CD’s to do an uninstall and reinstall, ( had an employee leave and the CDs are no longer here.)

Does anyone have a solution? I am not much of a techie.
