Hello all!

I have been noticing photo works of Mr. William Seldon for a while now mostly in Uk based magazines like "the face".

I scanned what I have found, and you can see it here:

I am very curious to find out what he does digitaly to the skin of the models because it is something i have never ever seen. I have tried to find an answer to this without any luck. Their skin, if you zoom in in the pictures is almost transparent..very plastic or even gummy. Patricularly in picture one, where the subject has a problematic skin, and this "filter "(i presume it is a filter since it reacted differently on problematic kinds of skin) is doing something like destorying the texture of the skin and making it transparent for some reason. All the subjects look doll like. If anyone has any input on this, I would very much appreciate it since it has been bugging me for a while. It just does not look like a simple retouche job. It looks like it has been achieved with photoshop intergrated something. The scans are not at their best, I know, lots of moire in there, but I think its fairly visible.

Thank you for any input….

Photoshop’s plastic wrap filter?

Are you sure it’s Photoshop and not just good makeup? You know, the way they did these things before PS?

im quite sure its not the makeup (altough it is important) because if you saw these photos in print you can see the skin look very fake, digitized!!!
