First off, we are using Photoshop CS educational edition.

I had created a flyer, and once I printed it up, the text and the background picture were very pixelated. I tried to change it to a psd, and flatten it as a jpeg, and print at highest quality. I printed out the same each time.

Can anyone help me with this?

What is the resolution, in pixels-per-inch, of the file you’re trying to print?

It should be at least 200 ppi, or better yet, 300 ppi.

In this case, then, for an 8.5" × 11" flyer, the actual pixel dimensions should be at least 1700 × 2200 pixels.

If you’ve imported low resolution (i.e.: 72 ppi web-optimizied images) and attempted to enlarge them to fit a print resolution document, you’re going to have quality issues, because you’re asking Photoshop to "invent" image data. This will NEVER look as good as having a properly high resolution image file to start with.

We need more info about the file parameters, the images you’ve used and how you put the whole thing together.
