Hi People,

How do you apply piping when typing text on photoshop (i.e. black text with a silver layer on the outskirts?)

You’re going to need to be more precise and clear with your description.

Well, for me, anyway. Maybe somebody else knows what you’re talking about?

I think he means adding a stroke, but silver gets complicated.

If this is what you mean….explore the Stroke attribute of Layer Styles, and set the stroke to Gradient, and Shape Burst.

Hi Phosphor Digital,
This is almost what I want 😉 How would I just have the silver all around the outline of my text rather than just in the middle. Thank you for your post.

Sorry, for the text to just have a silver band around it, rather than black and silver.

Paul, there is no such thing as silver or gold on a monitor (or an ink-jet) you need the shading to give the illusion of shininess.
