I am using Photoshop CS2. I am editing a friends files for him. It is for a web site then brochure.

The files he sent me seem to have adjustment layers that are indented and specific to one layer underneath.

All adjustment layers i have done in the past are active for everything underneath them. And when i read the help that is what it says.

It makes sense that you would be able to specify which layers they work on but i can not seem to figure out how to do that.

Can anyone help me.

Could be it is a very basic question.

Sounds like they are grouped with that layer, which is a way to make them specific to that layer.

To do/undo it, Alt-click on the line between the layers.

Hold down the alt/option key and click on the line between the adjustment layer and the layer you want it to affect: this will indent it.

Now..

I have created groups for him to use to move the little pieces i have created for him around and keep them together and size etc..

But when he drags them into a new project the group does not come so they are all separate layers.

It works on my end no problem.

Any ideas on that?

Are they linked?

Well they are in Groups.

When i drag the group into a new file it stays in the group and everything is just fine.

When he drags it into a new file the layers are there but they are no longer grouped. He can regroup them after and use it but still strange.
