Camera Raw confusion PS9 CS2

I have noticed that there is a difference in the version of ACR given depending on where I look.
For instance, when I open the plug in menu within PS9, it shows me version 3.5, which is the one I have replaced the original with. However, when I open the calibrate folder in camera raw when I am opening a NEF file, it shows ACR 2.4

I have placed the new acr 3.5 file in the correct directory as I was instructed by the readme file when I downloaded it from Adobe.

Any help or information is appreciated.

I think the only differences between the later versions of the raw converter are in the raw formats supported.
Version 3.5 is already out of date (does not support the Nikon D80 among others) but version 3.6 is vaporware.
If your camera is supported you are not missing anything. You may want to check out the new beta 4 version of Lightroom. It appears to already incorporate features from Raw Shooter Premium which Adobe purchased (and shut down), as well as support the D80 (and possibly others).

So, as long as I can open and use the raw converter it don’t matter which version I have?
