Is there a way of making a black contact sheet with white text. I need to batch process 2-300 images at a time. I’ve tried making an action to change the background layer but it all falls down when it comes to adding the image file name. Any solutions anyone.

If you have the suite there’s a very configurable contact sheet that uses InDesign.

If the roadblock is obtaining the file name for each image, that’s doable within an action by invoking a script. A good source for this type of thing, including sample scripts, is <http://www.ps-scripts.com>. Also, you could Google something like photoshop file name javascript

I was just experimenting and came up with a functional semi-automated method that involves engaging the Automate > Contact Sheet II command and applying some not well-known action/batch methods.
