When I view a photo in Photoshop CS2, it has a brown tint. If I view the photo in any other program (such as a web browser or PaintShop Pro or VuePrint), there is no brown tint (the photo coloring looks correct). I have read about programs to adjust or calibrate the display colors of a display monitor but this problem is only seen in Photoshop so I don’t think the display monitor is at fault (if it was, I would see the brown tint with all programs, not just with Photoshop).

Has anyone else seen this condition? Is there a color adjustment in Photoshop CS2 to correct the display so I see the same coloring that all other programs display?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

See the FAQ. Your display profile is bad.

You need to calibrate your monitor using Adobe Gamma, or if you have an LCD screen, one of the third party profiling hardware/software utilities.

As Chris pointed out, details of "how-to" can found in the FAQs.

Try it with Adobe Gamma before you spend money on a Calibration device. For some LCDs this is perfectly adequate for desktop and printshop printers.

Where can I find the FAQ? Is there a Photoshop display profile that needs to be adjusted? Does the FAQ describe how to modify that profile? That appears to be what I need to adjust since the problem is only within Photoshop.

If instead of making the adjustment somehow within Photoshop, if I use one of those recommended programs to adjust the LCD screen colors to make the colors look correct in Photoshop, am I correct that the colors will then be messed up with everything other than Photoshop (since the colors now look correct outside of Photoshop) or will the adjustment only be applied when using Photoshop?

In Adobe Gamma just follow the on-screen instructions.
