I keep getting a message when I open PS that says :

The configuration for the activation license is missing. Please uninstall and reinstall this application.

Yesterday, I did that more than once, all to no avail. Then, I went to the Adobe site, and it said that there might be errors on my hard drive, so do a check/fix for that, which I did. I reinstalled yet another time, and when I opened the program it was fine this morning. However, right in the middle of what I was doing, the error message came up again.

I am following all the suggestions by Adobe, short of reformatting my hard disk. I really don’t want to do that since I don’t seem to have problems with anything else except PS.

Any suggestions?

You may still have problems with the hard disk (drivers, cables, or the disk itself), or you may have some utility or other application messing with the disk.

Also, some registry "cleaners" have been known to mess up the registry entries needed by Photoshop and cause similar messages.
