Hi there. I’m just wondering if there are any fixes or workarounds for the grid glitch in PS CS2. I have to do most of my pixel art in different software because of this bug. I thought maybe updating to 9.0.2 would help, but it didn’t. Is Adobe even aware of this? I would assume so, but I would also assume if they were aware of such a simple but obvious bug, it would have been fixed by now.

If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, here’s a screenshot: <http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/8199/gridbugsu4.gif>

It’s very frusterating. So if anyone has any tips/suggestions, please do come forward.

Thanks,
Adam

Just though I’d try in on my desktop and I’m showing exactly the same problems, one thing I do notice is that the grid doesn’t align to the checkmarks on the ruler and its the ruler the pxels are aligning to!

Also tried it on my laptop – same problem, so I guess it’s not a graphics card issue.

Strange.

A workaround that seems to work (so far!) is to set the the gridlines to be every 2 pixels with 2 subdivisions.

You can even then reset the grids to 1 pixel/1 subdivision and it still aligns correctly and even stranger still does after closing and restarting Photoshop.

Just discovered the same thing as Sargent Mike:

There is a bug. It is as if it doesn’t like being set from inches (or whatever) straight down to 1 pixel. (see left screen shot)

In my case I then set the grid to 3 pixels and they aligned exactly with the ruler, then stayed in alignment when setting it back to 1 pixel (right screen shot)

So who’s going to file the bug report?

Over to you Private Adam.

Thanks everyone! Problem seems to be fixed after using Mike’s method. I also submitted the bug report just now.

That’s one less headache to deal with.

It doesn’t always happen, so there’s some precursor action needed to cause it (preferences setting, steps you do before this, etc.). That’s probably why we missed it.
