Rubber stamp it out. to use the healing brush, you must use it correctly or you will get the effect you are seeing with the black/ white.
The picture is posted at pixentral so you can see what I’m working on. The title is Wind-Mill.
I messed with the stamp tool for a while and while it does eventually cover the white pretty well, but once the white is fully converted the black letters that were on the white label remain in place and stand out because they are a different shade and texture of black.
I finally used the rectangular marquee to create a border around the black letters and then applied the paint bucket to that a few times and it cleaned up pretty well. I think with some continued work I’ll finally get it sorted out.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Jim

You need to post (copy & paste) the generated html code that pixcentral creates after successfully uploading the image into your message for us to see it Jim!
The patch and healing tools do tend to "bleed" when used on or close to a contrasting area.
In the case of your white label, I made a quick selection of an area of black above the label (with the poly lasoo tool).
Then did Ctrl+J to copy this onto a new layer.
With the "Move" tool dragged it over the top half of the label.
Then again, this time holding the Alt key to drag a copy of this layer so I could completely cover the white label.
After merging down the layers, I used to Patch tool to tidy any evidence of the "joins"
Hope this helps.
Chris.
….or you could just use the Erase Tool 😉
Thanks everyone for the tips. Obviously I am still learning the in’s and out’s of using the tools, so I’ll follow your suggestions and I’m sure it will work out.
Regards,
Jim
Obviously, Jim. It goes without saying, you shouldn’t tackle a job like this when the wind is blowing 🙂
Looks like a slow day at the studio.
Um… It’s actually the middle of the night here
On a more on-topic note, Jim. Whilst you are learning to use Photoshop’s vast array of tools, don’t forget to have some fun. It really can help shorten the learning curve.
Chris
HA HA – Really great stuff. Shows what a little imagination and a lot of skill can do. I’ll get there……..
Jim
You will Jim. Enjoy your Photoshop journey.
Over and out 😉
You look younger than I imagined Chris!
