Hi all, i’ve got this problem: have scanned an image, now i need to reduce the colors from the original to max 30 colors, the steps i have done right now are: first reduce the noise from the scan, then reduce to aprox 60 colors, then corect the "dithered" part and the edges where the color are more mixed toghether.
the result is really poor, and considering that this is a process i have to do on tons of images, is quite slow. was wondering if there is a plugin, or a way don’t have considered… think about the cutout filter, is working quite well, but it got only 9 passages/levels, so the max number of color are 9…. :/ need something that consider a pixel and all the pixel connected… or a cutout filter with more than 9 levels… any idea?

Matteo,

Maybe not what you’re intending, but have you tried the Posterisation filter? That certainly won’t have the dithering.

And for "tons of images" you might record the process in an action.
