Hello,
I am having the same problem here. I tried all the solutions in the knowledge base and I’m using an english version of windows xp without any high ascii or forgein languages installed. I have 2 gigs of memory and I have reduced the memory that photoshop uses to 55% and 30% without any effect. And I have set the temp directory in the environment variables to c:\temp. Nothing seems to be working.

Has anyone succesfully resolved this problem? I have tried all the recommended solutions in the knowledgebase article. Running V.9.0.2. WinXP Pro 2G memory, lots and lots of scratch disk space. It seems to work until the screen where it asks to set white point. After clicking ok, Goes through the process and then gives the error: could not complete the merge to HDR command because a command was not available. Any thoughts? Any??

OK. If anyone is interested, (and it doesn’t look like anyone is), I have figured out the answer to this. If you have gone and disabled some of your filters/file extensions/file formats, that you never use like I have, you may run into this problem. You need to make sure that the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\File Formats PBM.8bi file is active. I had disabled it not knowing what it was and never thinking I would need it. Hope this helps someone.
