been using PS for many years, recently in the CS2 version I find that when I reopen a .psd image and try to edit the exsiting type with he horizontaly type tool, it just opens a new layer and creates new text, maybe a brain fart on my part, but it is making pull my hair out. You should be able to go back and insert the text prompt to edit previous type right, HELP

Theos,

Is there a text layer in the PSD? (layers palette) If there is, click on the T thumbnail to activate it for editing. If you do not see a text layer (it will have a T in the thumbnail) the text has been rasterized and therefore be uneditable.

Does CS2 rasterize a .psd image by default? I thought that I had to manual do that? I went and created a test file and I was able to gain access to edit this time, but I have to go back and get the the other files that are giving me trouble and double check if the T is shown in the layer palate.

T,
PS shouldn’t rasterize by default if the PSD has been saved with layers intact.
No text layer in layers palette, no editing. ;(
