Can’t see Image > Adjustments > Variations command

I cannot see Variations command under Image > Adjustments. It is not hidden. Its not greyed out – its just not there. I know it was there as I have used it before.

I tried starting photoshop with Ctrl + Alt + Shift down to delete preferences file but no help.

Can anyone help me please?

Are you working in 16 bit by any chance?

Hey Mike,

No, working in 8bit. I also checked preferences to see if its been diabled for viewing – its not even listed in preferences!

You are definitely working in 8bit RGB, CMYK, LAB? Not GIF (Indexed) ? If it is due to a corrupt prefs file, which you say you deleted, did you get the dialogue box asking if you wanted to do this when you started PS with the three fingured salute? It is possible to get the timing wrong and PS will start whilst holding these keys down and will load without deleting the prefs file. You must see the dialogue box at start up.

Mike,

Yeah – 8Bit RGB JPEG. I got the message from Photoshop while holding down the keys about deleting preferences etc – which I did like 50 times. I also noticed that my Vanishing Point had gone missing too!!!

Anyway, I just reinstalled the damn thing – everything is back to normal.
