Printing issues on Canon Pixma ip4300

I’m using photoshop for a year now and bought a new printer last week. My new printer is a Canon Pixma ip4300 and when I use the Canon program Easy-Photoprint to print a photo, all works well. But when I print the same photo from Photoshop (and also Adobe Lightroom) the colours are muddy (specially the darker colours) and the ink is not dry (even after a day).

Can somebody tell me what I can do about this? Canon can’t give me a answer because the don’t support Photoshop!?!?!

This is an issue of color management. Photoshop is a color managed application (as is Lightroom). Your absolute best bet is to spend 15 minutes reading about it at Ian Lyons’ most excellent site, below:
